USF2000 Championship

As the first official step on the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires, USF2000 provides a vital training ground for tomorrow’s stars.

The series has been a formative step for drivers dating back to 1990 its graduates include Dane Cameron, JR Hildebrand, Colton Herta, Sam Hornish Jr., Charlie Kimball, Andy Lally, Spencer Pigot, Buddy Rice, Bryan Sellers, Zach Veach and Dan Wheldon amongst many others.

The series champion receives a scholarship package of $325,000 to advance to Pro Mazda competition in 2019. In 2018, a total of $497,950 in prizes and awards are on offer during the season.

The series is also part of the Mazda $200K USF2000 Scholarship Shootout, which brings together champions of series from around the world to compete for a $200K scholarship to enter the USF2000 ranks.

The highly touted Tatuus USF-17 made its debut in 2017 and represented a significant technology leap. In addition to enhanced safety features, upgrades included a six-speed paddle shift gearbox, two-way adjustable dampers, Cosworth data system an ECU, LCD steering wheel, four-piston PFC brakes and more. Its Mazda 2.0 liter MZR powerplant produces 175 HP.

Cooper Tires is the Official Tire of USF2000. Tire allocations include two new sets for single events, three for doubleheaders and four for tripleheaders in addition to a carryover set of used/scrubbed tires from a previous race or test. Two sets of new tires are permitted on ovals.

All races will feature live streaming shows on indycar.com, usf2000.com, RoadToIndy.TV and the RoadToIndy.TV App including pre- and post-race coverage. Dedicated broadcast channels are available on Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku and, most recently, the Xbox One Official App.
